The Abbner Home –
Staff and Command, Alternate Threats Section
Col. Hartley M. West:
Commanding Officer, Alternate Threats Section:
West was a Lt. in the Great War. Rumor is that
he was a playboy and explorer in the 1920s and that he knows PM
Churchill personally. He rejoined the army in 1936 and served in
Palestine and France. West is tall, charismatic and popular with
his men.
Maj. Winthrop Roderick Thistlewood:
Executive Officer, Alternate Threats Section:
Thistlewood is a quiet, meticulous career
soldier in his late 40’s. Thistlewood’s wife Petulia works as a
secretary for the unit.
Colette LaSalle:
Chief Forger, Alternate Threats Section:
Mme. LaSalle was an artist and part-time dock
clerk in Les Escaradine before her husband was killed by SS and she
escaped to England during the Miracle of Dunkirk. Anxious to avenge
her husband she has turned her artistic skills and document
experience to forging documents for the Alternate Threats Section.
Maj. Rupert Frost:
Head of Intelligence Section, Alternate Threats Section:
Frost served as a spy throughout the 1930s. No
details are known of his exact service but he is known to enjoy
Wagner’s operas, ancient Egyptian art, and have a large collection
of books on the occult.
Quartermaster Warrant Officer Cls II Seymour
Holister:
Supply Sergeant, Alternate Threats Section:
Holister is busy on his day off. He is
responsible for all supply requirements for the unit, including
whatever Dr. Tesla pulls out of the air and, most recently, 100
.45cal silver bullets. Although he can meet almost any strange
request he has trouble keeping supplied with mundane things like
toiletries and base rations. Holister is known to yell and some
staff avoid him. Holister left both his legs in France in 1916.
Maj. Mark Neilson:
Liason to American Department of War, Alternate Threats Section:
Neilson is easy going and spends considerable
time at the pub.
Commodore Clifton Webber:
Naval Liason, Alternate Threats Section:
Webber is responsible for coordinating unit
activities with the Royal Navy, which includes arranging water
transport. Besides the few patrol boats, landing craft and kayaks
Webber directly controls, he can arrange submarine, merchant, or
warship access with lead time. Webber is competent, but often seems
overwhelmed by the realities of the Abbner Home.
Lt. Oliver Parsons:
Head of Security, Alternate Threats Section:
Parsons (no relation to Pvt. Parsons) runs
physical and intelligence security for the Abbner Home. One of his
duties is to censor mail entering and leaving the base. He is also
responsible for ensuring all staff follow all security protocols,
and if necessary, searching out spies on base. Parsons has a small
brig on the base. A side effect of his duties is that Parsons is
distant and cold to everyone on base – he reports directly and only
to Col. West.
